In my photography, I leave behind a sense of freedom in the vast, almost endless, landscape. A kind of stillness free from interruption that cannot be felt anywhere else. With only an echo of human presence within my photography, there is a heightened sense of awareness.

My goal is to inspire those who see my work to not only look at the world around them, but to be freed from all obstructing ideas. To take in the grandeur of the world around us and to be free from the minutiae of everyday life. With no burden, no question, and no wasteful thought, there is stillness.

ABOUT ME:

Traveler|Outdoor Enthusiast.

Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, I attribute my love for the outdoors to my family and the many vacations we went on in the 1990s and early 2000s. From the roadtrips to the Great Smoky Mountains and Mackinac Island to the countless destinations in Wisconsin, I mark these trips as the first moments that captured my interest in the outdoors. Without them, I don’t know if I would have found my genuine love for landscape photography.

My love for photography was born out of many unsuccessful attempts at the traditional forms of art. In my sophomore year of high school, I took a black and white film photography class and bought my first SLR camera. I learned how to process film and use the darkroom. I continued my photography education at Elgin Community College, where I received the Shirley Calby Foundation Scholarship for Art and the Trustee Leadership for the Visual Arts Scholarship. From there I attended Columbia College Chicago where I received a BA in Photography in 2013.

Today, I am based in Northeast Ohio. When i’m not doing photo-related things, you can find me hiking at Cuyahoga Valley National Park or Stark Parks, watching historical dramas on Netflix, or creating travel itineraries for destinations I hope to visit in the near future.
